State & Country : Colorado, United States
Order Date : 2012-03-12 / Stock : Heavy Nouveau, Raised Ink
Q : Briefly tell us about your company, it??s history and what kind of services do you offer?
A : Nickel Creative is a small graphic design company offering branding, web and online marketing services. We specialize in custom Wordpress sites and logo creation.
Q : Your design inspires us, what inspires you?
A : Other design, people and places?? simply walking down the street! I try to pay close attention to what is happening around me because inspiration can be drawn from almost anywhere. I frequent countless design blogs as well as sites like dribbble and Behance to stay fresh.
Q : The front side of your card has a great worn and aged feel, and the backside you included a fully bled raised ink design that provides a wonderful texture, how did you come up with this concept?
A : The ??Nickel?? on the front of the card is my rough interpretation of an old shield nickel (image below) which was first introduced in 1866. The shield nickel was the first five cent denomination struck in nickel. I wanted to carry an aged feeling throughout the card and my brand, so texture was used to help accomplish this.
Q : Any thoughts on the stock and finishing you selected? Are you interested in any other finishing??s or stocks MorningPrint has to offer?
A : I??ve placed orders for raised ink and foil cards and I??ve been happy with each. I??ll be trying the emboss at some point as well. MorningPrint??s pricing structure allows anyone to experiment with what would normally be cost prohibitive finishing effects.
Q : Any tips for our clients to consider when they are creating their business cards?
A : Try to be unique with your design because that first impression really counts! Search the web for inspiration, there are hundreds of sites that feature some truly amazing business card designs. Then, call me for help with putting your ideas together into your own powerful design that will blow people away!
Q : Did you experience any difficulties when using MorningPrint.com, or find anything to be inconvenient or inefficient? Any suggestions you can offer us to help make the customer experience better?
A : An InDesign template would be helpful for new customers who prefer to lay out their work in that way. Maybe I??ll let you have mine.
Black Raied Ink VS Clear Raised Ink
Raised ink uses a special process called ??Epoxy??. It is similar to UV spot coating but has more raised effect.
This clear substance will be applied over designate printed area and creating unique raised effect on the business card surface.
There are two types of raised ink: black and clear. If the requested area for raised ink is 100% black we use the black raised ink. If the requested area for raised ink has other colors a clear epoxy is used.
Suggested raised ink: MorningPrint suggests using the Raised ink Option with all 100% black text on white stock as the black ink has a more precise effect.
